Wish I'd noticed this thread before.

My tastes are pretty varied, although the absolute undisputed greatest band of all time for me is Joy Division, so props to Jack for his post above

Other fav. bands/dance acts include: New Order (of course), Primal Scream, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Radiohead, Flaming Lips, Bell X1, Interpol (although these guys are in danger of becoming too pretentious and disappearing up their own arses), Stone Roses, Doves, Glasvegas, pre-millenium Manic Street Preachers, The National, Underworld, Massive Attack, Prodigy, Leftfield, Orbital, Cut Copy, Japanese Popstars, LCD Soundsystem, !!! (chk chk chk), Union of Knives... My favourite current band are Secret Machines who I saw in Edinburgh's Liquid Rooms a couple of years back and were absolutely phenomenal; easily the best live performance I'll ever see. The line-up's changed now though and I've heard they're not as good live which is a massive shame

Maaaaaaaaaaan, most of the music tastes here are awesome! As for myself, it is a wide ranging collection: Classic rock, Metal, Country, Cajun, Folk, Classical, Gangsta Rap, Happy Hardcore, Dance, Speed Metal, Indie, Rock & Roll, Blues etc etc.

Used to be massively into MeatLoaf and went to see him twice - last year and the year before. The first time (Three Bats Tour) he was amazing and so I was delighted that he extended the tour but the second time you just got the impression that he was gonna drop dead any minute which was a shame. Oh, and his choice on encore was strange to say the least.

Unfortunately my first ever gig was S Club 7 (don't laugh - I was only 11 at the time and only agreed to go for Rachel Stevens and she got quite close cept some fat woman stood up in front of me and I couldn't see because, for some reason lost in time, I couldn't be arsed to stand up...

Saw The Rolling Stones on the "A Bigger Bang" Tour too even though I knew I had heard just one song by them before I went. This was mainly due to the fact that the father wanted to go and wasn't allowed on his own so I got roped into it. Listened to Forty Licks on the way to The Millenium Stadium and learned to like them!

Going to see Steel Panther in about three weeks. Anyone heard of them? They're a parody glam metal band and I enjoy them but I hate moshing and standing up for long periods of time so I suspect that it isn't my ideal gig but my mate bought the tickets before I could say no.

I gabble on far too much really.

Whist I'm at it, St Vincent is equally inspired. This is from her last album Actor, although if I'm honest it's not as good as her first album Marry Me (mind you, that is a contender for best album I've ever heard, so the follow-up had a lot to live up to).
